    U.S. Rep. Hillary Scholten introduced bills to require data centers to report water and energy usage and update Department of Defense efficiency standards. The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy is seeking public comment on a draft permit for Oracle and Open AI's data center in Saline Township, with comments due by Aug. 24. A protest against data centers occurred at President Donald Trump's rally at the General Motors Proving Grounds in Milford.
