Roberto Araujo, 41, was arrested after allegedly attacking William Rodriguez with a metal softball bat during an adult game in Aventura. The victim sustained head injuries and was hospitalized, while Araujo fled the scene before being identified through a license plate number provided by Ana Diaz Matthews, Rodriguez's aunt. He faces charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

A 15-year-old boy, Xavier Tyson, was jailed in Miami-Dade for adult charges related to the alleged gang rape of a 12-year-old girl in Overtown. Two other suspects, Nelson Nunez (14) and Jusiah Jones, are also involved, with Nunez in custody and Jones on house arrest. The attack occurred at a community garden near Frederick Douglass Elementary School on June 18, 2025.
