Mehbooba Mufti

Iltija claims she and Mehbooba Mufti are under house arrest on the eve of Martyrs’ Day in Jammu and Kashmir. The day, commemorating 22 deaths in 1931, was removed from gazetted holidays in 2020 by the L-G administration.

Mehbooba Mufti attended a Pandit ceremony in Kashmir aimed at mending community bonds. Displaced Pandit groups are considering returning due to improved security and reduced militant recruitment.

Talib Hussain Choudhary, a J&K tribal leader, was arrested for protesting at a site where 32 tribal structures were demolished in an anti-encroachment drive. He faces charges of 'attempt to murder' and 'rioting with deadly weapons', while PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti has demanded his release.

Mehbooba Mufti requested Health Minister J.P. Nadda to expedite work at AIIMS Awantipora. This followed her recent visit to the site to assess construction progress.
