- Fairfax County fire department seeks public’s help on training facility fire
A fire destroyed a Fairfax County Urban Search and Rescue Training Facility in Lorton, causing over $1 million in damage and destroying equipment like a semitractor-trailer and Kubota tractor. Surveillance video showed six individuals at the facility before the fire, though officials have not confirmed arson. The Virginia Task Force 1, currently in Venezuela after earthquakes, uses the facility for training.
