Hundreds of scooter riders were monitored by police traveling through downtown and southeast Minneapolis on Saturday night. When a large group went onto southbound I-35W near Fourth Street, both Minneapolis police and Minnesota State Patrol took no enforcement action. Both agencies noted that non-motorized devices are prohibited on freeways and advocated for regulation, suggesting geofencing plans to prevent future safety risks.
