Lebanon deal

The agreement involves the Lebanese Armed Forces gradually taking over from the IDF in two southern Lebanon zones to combat Hezbollah. The deal is testing an Iran agreement, with Hezbollah described as a 'wild card' by a US official.

The IDF slightly withdrew along the northern border as part of a Lebanon agreement. A Gaza strike targeted a known Hamas terrorist, and the IDF chief of staff addressed women's roles in combat.

Israeli national security minister Itamar Ben Gvir criticized the newly signed Lebanon agreement as a 'grave mistake' and demanded a Security Cabinet vote. He argued Israel should pursue 'total military victory' over Hezbollah instead of relying on international agreements, referencing past posts advocating violence against Lebanon and Gaza.
