Hong Kong will review the age threshold for elderly residents to better identify priority cases after a 70-year-old man was found dead by suicide in his flat. Welfare chief Chris Sun Yuk-han pledged the review following the incident, which also involved the man's 78-year-old unconscious wife found nearby.

A 67-year-old former dockworker, Leung Kam-wah, was sentenced to nine years in prison for sexually assaulting a 26-year-old mother during a daytime break-in at her public rental flat in Hong Kong. The incident occurred after he followed her from a wet market to her residence in Lai King Estate, Kwai Chung, on July 5, 2024. Leung has a history of 11 previous criminal convictions.
