Colorado Governor Jared Polis signed a bill allowing individuals to sue for damages from conversion therapy under the state’s medical malpractice law. The law also removes time restrictions for claims and permits filing on behalf of deceased persons, responding to a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling that struck down a prior ban on the practice.

Colorado has passed legislation allowing the state to bypass federal vaccine guidance and instead follow recommendations from national medical groups, responding to recent federal policy changes. At least 29 states plus Washington D.C. have taken similar steps to maintain vaccine confidence and coverage. A grassroots coalition called Colorado Chooses Vaccines has formed to educate the public about vaccine benefits and vaccine-preventable diseases.
