- New law in effect to quicken response to missing college students in Colorado
A new law, the Missing Person Training & Higher Education Reporting Act (SB26-120), has taken effect in Colorado to quicken responses when college students go missing. This legislation requires law enforcement officers to undergo specific training and mandates higher education institutions to conduct a Preliminary Wellness Assessment if a student is missing or at risk. The law was championed by the families of Megan Trussell and Kaylee Russell.
