Flash floods in Nepal, triggered by an avalanche of ice and rock, resulted in at least eight deaths and left hundreds missing. The flash flood destroyed several villages and damaged infrastructure, including roads and hydropower projects near the Bhotekoshi River. Experts suggest that increasing global temperatures are causing accelerated glacier melt and making the Himalayan region vulnerable to such extreme weather events.
