KWA proposes projects to address water scarcity in West Kochi. The initiative aims to tackle the region's water shortage issues through targeted interventions.

KWA is addressing water supply disruptions in Kozhikode caused by recent downpours. The JICA drinking water project's reduced supply for nearly a week resulted from siltation in treatment plant filter beds due to highly turbid water.

Kerala's liabilities are estimated at ₹5.07-lakh crore, with salaries, pensions, and interest payments accounting for 77.6% of revenue receipts in 2025-26. The state faces urgent calls for reforms in KIIFB, KSEB, KSRTC, and KWA, alongside its capital expenditure at 1.3% of GSDP, one of the lowest in India.

The Kerala government's White Paper on fiscal health proposes reforms for loss-making public sector enterprises, specifically targeting KSEB, KSRTC, and KWA. It also recommends merging the Kerala State Beverages Corporation with the Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (Supplyco).

KWA has signed a pact for a 27-km sewage pipeline project. The agreement focuses on infrastructure development.

A water supply disruption is likely in some city areas over the weekend due to urgent maintenance works at the KWA’s water treatment plants.

KWA and Kochi Corporation will conduct a joint inspection following reports of water contamination. Around 60 residents from Kadavanthra, Panampilly Nagar, and Perumanoor divisions experienced diarrhoea and vomiting after consuming KWA-supplied drinking water.
