Gerson Turcios, a resident of Rhinebeck who moved to the US from Honduras at age 17, was approached and seized by immigration officers while mowing lawns in his hometown. Local neighbors and friends sprang into action when they learned about the arrest, questioning if they could stop his deportation. Ultimately, Turcios was photographed by the men and taken via an SUV to an ICE processing center in Newburgh.

A funeral was held for James Riches, a retired FDNY deputy chief who spent six months at ground zero searching for his son's body after 9/11. He dedicated his life to supporting 9/11 survivors and their families.
