- Soccer regulators score early win on agent rules at EU court
The EU Court of Justice ruled that soccer regulators can apply public-interest defenses to regulate player agents, even if agents are not federation members. The German Football Association (DFB) must now prove its rules are necessary to protect the sport's integrity, with Germany's Federal Court of Justice to assess if the regulations restrict competition. ROGON, MVI Management, and DC challenged the DFB's agent rules, arguing they unlawfully restrict business practices.
