    Detour ahead: Portion of westbound I-94 closed in east metro this weekend

    East metro road closures this weekend: What drivers need to know

    Weekend road closures in the east Twin Cities metro will affect parts of Interstate 694 and Snelling Avenue due to bridge painting and resurfacing projects. Eastbound I-694 lanes will be closed from Friday 10 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m., with detours suggested via 35E and 35W. Southbound Snelling Avenue closures between 694 and Highway 36 will also occur during the same timeframe, compounded by ongoing Highway 280 summer closures.
