The recreational water advisory for Hull Creek has been lifted in Portsmouth, as announced by the Portsmouth Health Department. The advisory followed an incident involving an estimated 3 million gallons of sewage that gushed into local streets. Furthermore, the Virginia Department of Health reported no evidence of remaining impact on drinking water.

Portsmouth Police are investigating a shooting near the intersection of Douglas Avenue and Bayview Boulevard in the Port Norfolk area. The incident occurred late Thursday night near Hull Creek, the Elizabeth River, and the Western Freeway.
