    Europe's hot, dry summer takes its toll with fires in France and Greece, and drought in the UK

    Europe's record-breaking hot and dry summer caused wildfires in Greece (including a fatal helicopter collision and a blaze blamed on a faulty power line) and France, as well as a historic drought in the UK. Over 1,000 people were evacuated in Greece, and the UK experienced its driest July in nearly 200 years, with Wales and parts of England in official drought.
