Francisco Zapata, a 42-year-old miner, was rescued alive after being trapped for 14 days in a toxic sludge-filled tunnel 300 meters underground at La Mina Santa Fe. The rescue, led by USAR team leader Julio Saldaña, involved navigating three kilometers of hazardous mud and extreme conditions to reach Zapata.
