A severe weather alert is issued for Tuesday evening following high temperatures in the mid-90s, while Monday will see partly cloudy skies and low 90s. The rest of the week is expected to have dry, seasonable conditions.

Heavy downpours caused by a stalled cold front along I-40 are moving west-to-east across the Charlotte region, leading to potential localized flooding. Rainfall is expected to linger through Friday with 1-2 inches forecasted, though some areas may see more. Temperatures remain below average, with a return to typical hot, humid conditions expected by Sunday.
