NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani's audit accuses federal immigration agents of using aggressive and deceptive tactics, including misrepresenting themselves and exploiting loopholes in sanctuary policies. The audit, covering six city agencies, revealed a 36-fold increase in ICE detainer requests to the NYPD in 2025 and instances of federal agents impersonating emergency responders to access shelters.
