The Sindh Counter-terrorism Department (CTD) thwarted a major terrorist plot in Karachi by arresting two members of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA). The arrested terrorists, Mujahid Baloch and Farid Baloch, were found with bomb-making materials and had planned to target sensitive installations and law enforcement offices. Four kilograms of explosives, a detonator, and other materials were recovered during the operation.

An unidentified group exploded a government girls’ primary school in Sara Ghowara area of Birmal tehsil, Lower South Waziristan, late Tuesday night. District Police Officer Muhammad Tahir Shah confirmed the destruction and launched an investigation. Attacks on schools in the region have increased in recent months, with similar incidents reported in February, March, and October, as well as in North Waziristan’s Mir Ali in December 2025.
