Embraer C-390

Greece has approved a €3.5 billion ($4 billion) purchase of an Israeli multi-layer air defense system called 'Achilles Shield', including radars and missiles from Rafael and IAI. The defense minister confirmed the system will be operational within 35 months and that Greek companies will produce at least 25% of it. Additional procurements include Embraer C-390 aircraft, drones, and submarines, as part of Greece's broader defense modernization plan.

A Greek parliament committee approved purchasing three Brazilian Embraer C-390 transport planes worth €550m to €600m as part of a larger package. The C-390 competes with the American C-130 Hercules, which has long dominated the market.
