Cheatham County Schools in Tennessee is considering a proposal to limit classroom device use under a new state law requiring age-appropriate digital device guidelines. The plan prioritizes teacher-led instruction for K–5 students, restricts digital learning to cases with clear educational benefits, and bans social media use for grades K–5 on school internet. The school board will vote on the policy August 4, 2026.
