- Dozens of women and children in LA who survived domestic violence at risk of losing shelter services
Dozens of women and children in Los Angeles who fled domestic violence are at risk of losing shelter services after a transitional shelter's contract expired and funding has not been renewed. The number of people experiencing homelessness due to domestic or intimate partner violence in LA increased by 43% since early last year, with over 5,690 individuals affected. Jewish Family Service L.A. is covering the shelter's annual costs temporarily, but without renewed funding, the shelter may have to stop accepting new survivors.
