- Learning another language may keep your brain younger, study suggests
A study suggests that speaking multiple languages may slow brain aging, with bilingual individuals showing brains about six years younger than monolinguals. The research, conducted in Spain's Basque region, found that those who spoke three or four languages had even younger brain estimates. Learning a second language early and achieving fluency appears to offer greater cognitive benefits.
