The FDA approved bemotrizinol, the first new sunscreen ingredient in over 25 years, which protects against both UVA and UVB rays without leaving white streaks. It will initially be sold by DSM Nutritional Products under the brand Parsol Shield and becomes available to other manufacturers after an 18-month exclusivity period.
