A Venezuelan telenovela actor was arrested after police alleged he exposed himself in a vehicle at Doral Park Country Club, near a children's playground. Franklin Jose Virgüez Dun, 72, was charged with misdemeanor indecent exposure following a witness's report and video evidence.

A Doral mother was arrested after her 11-year-old son was found alone in an apartment complex, having been left unattended overnight. The child reported being frequently left alone, living in poor conditions with little food, and sharing meals with the family dog, which was also confined without food. The mother faces charges of child neglect and animal cruelty, and both children were taken to a hospital for evaluation.

Matthew Castillo was sworn in as the new Doral Police chief, succeeding Edwin Lopez, who became the City of Miami police chief. Castillo emphasized improving public safety and community engagement.

Edwin Lopez was sworn in as the new Miami Police Chief at the Adrienne Arsht Center. He replaces outgoing Chief Manny Morales and emphasized his commitment to leading from the front. Lopez previously led Doral Police and served with Miami-Dade Schools Police for 25 years.

Four people, including two girls, were found dead inside a home in Doral Isles, prompting a homicide investigation. Police and paramedics responded to a welfare check but pronounced all four deceased at the scene. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Homicide Bureau is leading the investigation.
