The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued a glacial lake outburst flood (Glof) alert for Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to warming temperatures and rain, causing road closures and high flood risks. Over 7.1 million people in these regions are vulnerable, with glaciers receding due to climate change.
