Aurora residents are flocking to city pools and splash pads as a heatwave brings triple-digit temperatures and high fire danger. The city has not yet activated cooling centers, which open at 100°F or higher, but Denver has opened nearly 50. Residents praised the splash pads and pools for cooling down, while officials emphasized cooling centers are available for all, not just homeless individuals.

Pasadena’s Six Metro Stations saw an 11.3% increase in A Line ridership in May compared to the same month a year ago, outpacing the 9.5% system-wide gain. The A Line, which includes stops at Memorial Park, Del Mar, and Sierra Madre Villa, previously operated as the Gold Line.
