Core Ultra Series 3

Framework, a modular and repairable laptop maker, launched a redesigned 13-inch laptop featuring Intel's Core Ultra Series 3 CPUs, a dock for desktop graphics cards, and updated components for its 16-inch model.

Framework announced an updated motherboard with Intel's Core Ultra Series 3 processors for its laptops, emphasizing Linux support. The new Framework Laptop 13 Pro will be the first pre-built model to ship with Linux from the factory, positioned as a 'MacBook Pro for Linux users' by CEO Nirav Patel.

Framework has launched the Laptop 13 Pro, a major redesign of its modular, upgradeable laptop. The new model features Intel's Core Ultra Series 3 (Panther Lake) chips, a touchscreen, a new black aluminum color option, and a larger battery, marking a significant departure from previous versions.

Intel has introduced new silicon for its non-Ultra Core Series 3 processors, marking the first time since the Raptor Lake architecture that non-Ultra CPUs include updated designs. Previously, non-Ultra chips reused older silicon from 12th- and 13th-generation Core CPUs, but the new Series 3 returns to a pattern of integrating advancements seen in flagship Ultra processors.

Intel has announced budget-friendly Panther Lake laptop processors under the Core Series 3 line, featuring fewer cores and lower performance specs compared to the Core Ultra Series 3. The Core Series 3 includes six models with up to six CPU cores but reduced graphics, PCIe lanes, and Thunderbolt support.
