- Hikers find remains of man missing from Cañon City area since September 2023
Hikers discovered human remains near Skyline Drive in Caon City, which were identified as Shawn Michael Dixon Sr., a man last seen on Sept. 12, 2023. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation and Caon City Police Department are investigating the cause and manner of his death. Dixon was expected to meet his family at Triangle Park but never arrived.

A 33-year-old Ferndale man riding an e-bike was killed after being struck by a Road Commission for Oakland County truck on Woodward Avenue near College Avenue. The truck was attempting to turn into a private driveway when it collided with the cyclist, who was riding on the sidewalk, resulting in his death at the scene.
