The City of Suffolk has announced multiple upcoming road closures. These closures are for necessary railway crossing upgrades, and all scheduled work is expected to be completed by August 22.

The City of Suffolk will celebrate National Night Out with over 20 locations and seven caravan motorcades involving multiple city departments and schools. Participating entities include Suffolk Police, Fire & Rescue, Sheriff's Office, Commonwealth Attorney, Western Tidewater Regional Jail, and Suffolk Public Schools.

Suffolk's inaugural Suffolk 360: The Leadership Perspective program is seeking civic-minded individuals to apply by August 15, 2026, for its first cohort of 30 participants. The program is a partnership between the Suffolk Foundation and the City of Suffolk.

The City of Suffolk announced the full closure and detour of Turlington Road as part of the Speights Spillway Bridge Replacement Project, which is expected to be completed in spring 2027.
