A UK resident received a suspicious text from Nationwide Bank, claiming someone used their full name and date of birth to create a profile but could not open an account without their ID. Nationwide confirmed they do not send such texts, and the individual has reported the incident to fraud reporting platforms.

A UK survey found that 1 in 8 employees are willing to sell their work credentials, with 13% of respondents admitting to selling company login details or knowing someone who has. The survey also found that leadership and IT professionals have a higher tolerance for fraud-related behavior. This shift in attitudes toward insider-enabled fraud is concerning for cybersecurity.
