    Substitute teacher whose sobbing mugshot went viral reaches plea deal in sex case involving student

    Katelyn Dawn Schronce, a 33-year-old substitute teacher, reached a plea deal after admitting to having sex with a 15-year-old student and was sentenced to 20-33 months in prison. She pleaded guilty to indecent liberties with a child and is banned from contacting the victim. Schronce was fired from Catawba County Schools following her arrest.
