- Climate change contributed to big Canada fires, study says as Trump blames mismanagement
A World Weather Attribution study reported that human-caused climate change doubled the likelihood of tinderbox weather conditions that sparked Canada’s massive summer wildfires. The researchers found global warming made these fire weather conditions twice as likely compared to pre-industrial times. Experts also pointed to the United States' historical emissions of heat-trapping gases when criticizing U.S. President Donald Trump’s focus on poor Canadian fire management.
