- Petrobras Confirms New Oil Find Off Rio de Janeiro Coast
Petrobras confirmed a new post-salt oil find in the Sudoeste de Tartaruga Verde block, located in the Campos Basin approximately 108 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro state. The discovery was made at a water depth of 734 meters, with Petrobras holding a 100 percent operating stake in the block.
- Brazil Puts 23 Pre-Salt Oil Blocks on the Block in Rio
Brazil’s oil regulator is offering 23 pre-salt oil blocks in its next production-sharing round, with eight blocks in the Campos Basin and thirteen in the Santos Basin. Companies had until July 21, 2026, to declare interest, with a public session scheduled for August.
- Petrobras Teams Up With Equinor to Drill a New Campos Frontier
Petrobras agreed to buy half of the Itaimbezinho exploration block from Norway’s Equinor. Equinor remains the operator with the other half, and a state body manages the production-sharing contract. The block is located offshore in the Campos Basin, a veteran oil region.
