    Firework explodes, hits NY man in the face: police

    A 45-year-old man was hospitalized with serious injuries after a firework exploded and struck him in the face on Callahans Beach in Fort Salonga, New York, on the Fourth of July. Police reported the incident occurred as the man was lighting the firework.
