Kochi Corporation has ordered a probe into ₹6.32-crore streetlight maintenance expenditure in 2022-23 to verify the number of LED lights installed by CSML under the City LED Street Light project and assess remaining old lights to be replaced.

Kochi Corporation plans to issue a notice to CSML over streetlight maintenance. Councillors from various political parties have criticized LED lights for erratic functioning and poor upkeep, but CSML claims no more than 200 lights were non-functional in their network of over 43,000.
