    Southern Copper Secures El Pilar Permits in Sonora

    Southern Copper has secured permits for the El Pilar project in Sonora, Mexico, with a budget of US$551 million, located 45 km from the Buenavista mine. The project includes 317 million tonnes of proven and probable copper ore and is expected to produce 36,000 tonnes of copper cathodes annually over 13 years.
