- Mississippi opens inquiry after police shoot and kill one-year-old during shoplifting call
A one-year-old boy, Kohen Wiley, was shot and killed by police responding to a shoplifting call at a Walmart in Senatobia, Mississippi. The officer claimed the suspect's vehicle was accelerating toward him, but the mother stated the car was not moving and she held the toddler visible before the shooting. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is handling the case, and the officer has been placed on administrative leave.
