Benicia

A spreading grass fire in Benicia has shut down the No. 2 lane and on-ramp of northbound Interstate 680. The California Highway Patrol Solano area office reported the blaze is moving eastbound with no estimated reopening time.

Crews contained a 4-acre wildfire in Solano County early Monday, with the Herman Fire near Benicia stopped by fire teams. Multiple agencies, including Cal Fire and local departments, responded to the blaze.

A 22-year-old Benicia man was arrested for possession and distribution of child sexual abuse materials. The Benicia Police Department conducted a six-month investigation into the suspect, culminating in a search warrant served at his residence.
