The Ohio Supreme Court gave approval for out-of-state vendors of wind energy by certifying six Midwest wind farms to sell power in Ohio. The ruling upheld a decision made by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, which initially certified these facilities as qualifying renewable resources. The court dismissed a challenge by Carbon Solutions Group regarding whether Avangrid had provided sufficient evidence that the energy could be reliably delivered to the state.
