Miami-Dade County Commissioner Oliver Gilbert, a former two-term Miami Gardens mayor, resigns to run for U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson’s seat. He plans to announce his candidacy on Sunday at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Miami Gardens, with his resignation effective January 3.
