    Fairfax County firefighters come home after assisting Colombia earthquake victims

    Ten Fairfax County firefighters who are part of Virginia Task Force 1 returned from helping coordinate a rescue effort after a devastating 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck Colombia on August 10. The team was tasked with evaluating buildings, fire stations, and personal homes in hard-hit areas. During their return, Battalion Chief Robert Schoenberger thanked the team for their dedication to service.
