Edgewater Candles is expanding its workshop space in Edgewater, and Scent Queens Candle Co. is rebranding as The Midnight Treasury while opening a new Andersonville location. Both businesses are increasing their physical footprint and diversifying their offerings, including candle-making workshops and a wider range of products.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe opened in the former Uncharted Books location in Logan Square, marking the first franchise location in Chicago with ordering kiosks. The cafe, owned by Cesar Coronado and Marion Sullivan, aims to revitalize the previously vacant storefront and capitalize on neighborhood investments.

The Obama Presidential Center opened in Chicago's Woodlawn neighborhood, featuring performances and family appearances. Hannah Wilson opened The Dropped Stitch yarn shop in Andersonville using her Jeopardy winnings and transitioned from a corporate data science career. The shop offers yarn, crafting supplies, and classes, with Wilson advocating for LGBTQ+ inclusivity during Pride Month as a trans woman.
