Kevin Barlow, a Chicago Transit Authority worker, was fatally shot in Roseland and later died at Advocate Christ Medical Center. He was a close friend of Monica Miller, who he supported during her breast cancer treatment. The incident is under police investigation.

Two men were shot in a car near South State Street in Chatham and later drove to South Ada Street to call for help. The 18-year-old was injured in the thigh and hospitalized in good condition, while the 49-year-old was shot in the leg and also hospitalized in good condition. Area 2 detectives are investigating the incident.

Two men in their 30s were critically injured during a shootout at a home in Chicago's Auburn Gresham neighborhood. Both fired guns during a fight, resulting in gunshot wounds to the buttocks for the 39-year-old and multiple injuries for the 33-year-old. They were hospitalized in critical condition, and two firearms were recovered at the scene.

A 56-year-old man died after starting a fire in Gage Park that damaged three homes. Firefighters responded to the blaze, which was ruled arson, and over 150 firefighters were deployed due to the spreading flames. The man, Manuel Gallegos, was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center.
