21st Unmanned Systems 'Kraken' Regiment

Ukraine is deploying ground robots to replace soldiers in dangerous missions, enhancing operational endurance and saving lives. The country has prioritized uncrewed ground vehicles (UGVs), contracting 25,000 units in the first half of 2026 and aiming for 50,000 by year-end.

Ukrainian ground robot operators emphasize the need for comprehensive services like training, maintenance, and communication support over new UGV models. Despite 300 companies producing 550 UGV types, unit commanders highlight that most require modifications for combat readiness, urging focus on standardization and iterative improvements.
