Rolls-Royce, Safran vie for India’s next-generation fighter engine

Rolls-Royce partnered with Reliance Industries to develop an indigenous engine for India's stealth fighter program and explore creating a dedicated aerospace gas turbine complex. Meanwhile, French company Safran has separately proposed developing a high-thrust engine for the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) using India’s state-run Gas Turbine Research Establishment.
