SpaceX says it’s building its largest spaceport yet, committing $100 billion for a Louisiana site—adding to its list of billion-dollar expansion plans

SpaceX is committing $100 billion to build Starbase Louisiana, a massive new spaceport occupying roughly 125,000 acres on Pecan Island in coastal Louisiana. This facility, located in Vermilion Parish, is intended to be the company's fourth and largest launch complex for Starship. The project is expected to begin construction in 2027, creating more than 3,000 direct jobs and roughly 8,100 indirect job opportunities.
