East Charlotte driver license office to shut down, relocate

The east Charlotte driver license office will permanently close at 5 p.m. Wednesday as it relocates, according to the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles. The DMV plans to reopen the service two miles away off Albemarle Road on Sept. 2. Customers can visit several alternative offices including Charlotte North and Monroe during this transition.
