Michigan Dept. of Treasury provides update for thousands of Michiganders still waiting on 2026 tax refund

The Michigan Department of Treasury provided an update for taxpayers awaiting their 2026 tax refunds, noting that the number of on-time filers waiting has decreased to 66,000 from nearly 95,000. The department reported processing 5.25 million returns and issuing $3.7 billion in refunds this year.
